II
Large farmhouse. Late C16/early C17, enlarged probably early C18.
Random coursed rubble stone, stone slate roof with stone stacks
including large external stack to west. Probably through passage,
T-shape range formed by single main range to west and later
extensions to east and north. Mostly 2 storeys and attic. South
front has 3 equal-sized gables with 2-light casement at top of
central gable and blocked single light to right. One 3-light to
each on first floor, with ends of beams projecting with gabled
hoods on each side of central window. Three-light on ground floor,
all with leaded casements, with projecting blue-brick porch of C19
between central and right-hand gable. North side has 3 gables,
with left-hand gable much smaller and not a cross gable to rear.
Blocked openings with timber lintels to all gables. Central one
has 3-light wood casement on first floor, 2-light below, both with
timber lintels, also with projecting flanking beams, with raking
hoods at eaves level and with gabled hood to left at first floor
level. Corner porch of C20 with C18 wide 6-panel door in 2 leaves,
top 2 glazed, rest fielded. May have originally been timber framed
but interior not accessible.
