Farmhouse, but not connected with farm buildings opposite at time
of survey (May 1985). Mid C19. Coursed rubble stone, stone slate
roof, with concrete tiles to rear of main range, scattered
diagonally-set ashlar flues on stone stacks. Large square 2-storey
wing to south, with lower rear service wing of single storey and
attic with 2 gabled dormers. South front of main range has 3
windows, 3/2/3-light stone mullions with square hoodmoulds and
decorative lozenge-shaped leading, similar to Kemble House (q.v.),
except for triple sash to right with canted bay below. Central
projecting gabled porch with coped verge and kneelers. Roof of
service wing has been swept forward to form verandah on wooden
struts and end walls, with wall at right angles concealing steps up
to entrance. Ground floor behind verandah has 2 central doors and
flanking 2-light casements, all with flush stone lintels. Right
hand return has flight of 17 stone steps up to loft door with
lean-to immediately behind, possible housing store of some kind,
with stack directly above.
