II

Detached house. Probably early C18. Brick and stone walls - front wall plastered,
thatched roof, brick stacks. One storey and attics. Appears to be of three-room
and cross-passage plan - the "lower" end having been added or rebuilt. Shallow
buttress on front elevation. Panelled door in open timber porch. Ground floor has
one casement window and two fixed windows, all with glazing bars. Attic has three
dormers with casements with glazing bars. At east end of the house a brick
outbuilding - possibly a former stable, of one storey and attics, with corrugated
asbestos roof. Timber doors on ground floor; loft door under gable in attic, with
remains of hoist.
West gable wall of house of stone and brick. Rear wall part rebuilt in brick and
modern windows inserted. Main ground floor room has large open fireplace with
renewed timber lintel and remains of bread oven. Some exposed ceiling beams.
