From probably late C11. Flint with stone dressings, and tiled roofs. Round
west tower, probably late C11 (probably not earlier) with Norman two-light
round-headed bell-openings with dividing shaft and scallop capital, circular
windows (probably not Saxon), and small two-light round-headed west window
with incised zigzag surround. Tall tower arch with zigzag carving in arch
and plain inposts. Nave probably late C11 with Norman south doorway with
zigzag in arch and one order of shafts with scallop capitals. One Decorated
nave window. Chancel with north and south chapels of early C13 with Y-tracery
windows. Remaining windows Perpendicular. Two-storeyed C15 north porch
with flushwork panelling, diagonal buttresses, fleurons in arch and flanking
niches. Interior: C15 double-hammerbeam nave roof. Two single-chamfered
arches between chancel and south chapel with octagonal pier, north chapel
probably originally had similar but now single arch. C15 north chapel roof.
Some C15 bench ends, remainder C19. C15 octagonal font. Early C17 screen
to north chapel. Monuments: tablets to Kemp family of 1614, 1710, 1734
and 1815.
