Stables and cartshed; of late C16 or C17 origin, probably re-
erected later. Brick-nogged timber-framing, 2 panels high per
floor, on stone plinth: tiled roof. Five bays, originally 2
storeys throughout. Framing morticed for close studding, but
alternate studs missing, save adjoining some main posts at rear.
Side facing dovecote: wide opening on left, separate lintel below
bressumer, fills most of bay. To right of second bay 2 upper
infill panels missing: opening to right. On right boarded door
under trimming supporting main post. Hit and miss window to
right: bressumer over morticed for joists for missing wing.
First floor 2 boarded doors on left, one on right, gap in framing
over boarded door to ground floor. Roof hipped on right.
Internally, brick cross wall at left end; remainder divided on
right of boarded door, forming 2 stables. Upper floor collapsed
in right 2 bays, also one roof truss. First floor in 3 sections,
timber-framed partitions, part wattle and daub infill: trusses
tie-beam, collar and angle struts, with central stud over
partitions where closed. 2 pairs purlins, square ridge. May be
part of house (q.v.), re-erected in C18 or early C19.
