Manor house, C16, altered in C19. Built of diapered red brick with thatched
roof. L-shaped plan of 2 storeys, formerly with attics. Single storey out-
shuts at rear. East-west wing has 2 windows to south with blocked entrance
door with brick pediment above to left. Inserted 3-light casement to right,
with brick pediment. Sash window with glazing bars at first floor level.
3-light casement with wrought iron light to right. Evidence of former window
and rebuilding at the right hand end. East gable has 5-light truncated window
at ground floor, 4-light truncated window at first floor, both with ovolo
moulded oak mullions, and blocked attic window, all with moulded brick hood
moulds. North facade has C19 door and casements. 6 panel part-glazed door
to right with rendered brick pediment. Sash window to right, and 2 sash sash
windows at first floor with glazing bars, inserted in earlier blocked openings.
South wing, gable wall has large blocked brick pedimented openings, at ground,
first and attic floor levels with later casement windows, with glazing bars
and evidence of rendered quoining. Blocked 6-light oak mullion and transom
window to east at ground floor level, with adjoining inserted 4 panel door
with flat brick arch. Blocked window under eaves above. Parapet gable with
moulded brick kneeler to east. Stepped west gable with moulded brick kneelers
and internal stack with twin moulded brick polygonal shafts. External stack
on west wall of south wing with C19 stack. Polygonal buttresses to south
gable with finials and string courses. Stepped gable with peak finial.
Interior mainly C19.
