13/136 Deykes monument, in the churchyard,
about 1.5m north of the vestry door,
Church of St. Mary

GV II

Pedestal tomb; early C19; stone. Small pyramid top, fluted
edge, swept down to 2 steps, flat lid with moulded edge. Fluted
frieze with end and centre paterae originally, paterae now
weathered off. Sides flat margin to sunk rectangular panel,
slightly raised oval, leaf carving in spandrels. Moulded base.
Commemorates William Deykes, died 1827, and his wife, died 1807.
