Garden wall with attached steps and gatepiers. c1700. For John Mirfin of
Slade Hooton Hall. Coursed, squared limestone walling, ashlar gatepiers.
Elongated rectangular enclosure wall with steps to gateway in west end.
Quoined walling has moulded copings, the northern wall higher. Western
gateway has tier of semicircular steps to C20 double gates (not of special
interest) with square piers having sunken-panelled shafts, cornices and
pulvinated finial plinths (finials removed). Gatepiers match those of wall
enclosing front garden to Slade Hooton Hall (q.v.). Included for group
value.
