Summer house. Dated 1686. For Elkanah Rich. Thinly-coursed rubble. Stone
slate roof. Single storey with basement. Square, single-cell plan. Quoins.
Stone steps lead to a 6-panel double door. The doorway has moulded surround
and slightly arched lintel inscribed: "1686". Continuous dripmould.
Modillion brackets at eaves. Hipped roof with stone ridges and ball finials
to corners and apex. Double-chamfered cross-window to rear and each side
return. Basement door on right return.
Interior: oak panelling similar to that of the hall (q.v.), perhaps C18.
