Three graveslabs. Early. and mid C18. Sandstone slabs.
The left slab is plain with simple arched decoration and winged angel, in
relief, in centre. To: Mary wife of Joshua Cudworth of Bargh d. 17th August
1717, A poem follows. Also John son of Joshua and Mary Cudworth d. 1733.
Also Deborah wife of John d, 1760.
The middle slab has moulded edges and arched decoration at top. To: Timothy
Cudworth of Kexbrough blacksmith son of John Cudworth of Barugh d. 1741
Also "Near this stone . . . John Armstrong Gent. of the Parish of St Johns
Westminster, Quarter Master of the 3rd Regiment of foot guards" d. 1779 aged
41 years.
The right stone has moulded sides and is divided by a line into two halves
each with rounded decoration at top. To: Mathew, son of Mathew and Hannah
Hirst of Kexbrough d. 1753 aged Ta months. Also Mathew Hirst of Kexbrough d.
1765. Plus others of the family up to 1804.
