GV II

Farmhouse. Mid-late C18, for Charles Turner. Coursed squared
herringbone-tooled stone; pantile roof with stone coping and ridge.
2 storeys with attic, 3 bays with added partial rear outshut.
Plinth. Openings have raised keystones to lintels, some lintels
very long, the windows with projecting sills. C20 board door
between right-hand bays. Right bay has paired 4-pane sashes; left
bays have small-pane 3-light windows with central side-sliding
light. Eaves band. Moulded kneelers. Stacks to ends, right one
rebuilt in brick, and to ridge between right-hand bays. Rear:
outshut on left. Right bays each have 2 windows to each floor with
horned 6-pane sashes, and stair-window between with 12-pane side-
sliding sash; all have keyed lintels and projecting sills apart
from one ground-floor window. Right return: a small window to
right on each floor; blocked attic window; board door to outshut.

Built for Charles Turner of the Kildale Estate, an agricultural
improver.
