A row of simple early C19 cottages. Brown brick with cogged eaves and string course.
Welsh slate roof. No 42 appears to be of slightly later build and incorporates a
carriageway with later C19 surround. Each cottage retains its panelled door and sash
windows, stucco cills and keys and red brick heads. In the north end wall is a round
headed sash window with glazing bars. Particularly important for group considerations
with the Church and Thirsk Hall.
