Cottage. Late C17 or earlier with later alterations. Narrow local red brick (front
whitewashed) with timber arcade plates. Steeply pitched swept pantile roof with
raised verges, later end and ridge chimneys. C20 dormers with Yorkshire sashes.
One storey plus attic. Two bays. Yorkshire sashes with late C18-early C19 panelled
shutters. Central C20 door in wood architrave. Stepped and dentilled eaves.
Interior: inglenook. Arcade plates relate to earlier timber-framed house, aisled on
both sides, and run through the adjoining house. The brickwork also indicates that
Famars and the adjoining house were once a single dwelling.
