5/4 The Manor House
- II

House. Early to mid C18. Red brick in Flemish bond, pantile roof. 2
storeys, 3 bays, cross-shaped in plan, with outshut extensions infilling
rear angles. Central bay breaks forward and in left return has 3 steps to
6-panel door set in quoined surround with double keystone. All windows are
sashes with flush wood architraves, keyed flat brick arches, and stone
sills. Dentilled eaves. Shaped kneelers, stone coping, end stacks; central
bay has hipped roof. Interior: dogleg staircase with turned balusters. 1
room has eared fire surround with Chinese-Chippendale-type fretwork to
frieze.
