House and front wall and railings. Mid C18 with C20 additions. House of mottled
pink brick in English bond to front, English garden wall bond to returns, with blue
slate roof. 2 storeys, 3 bays with rear wing further extended c1980. Symmetrical
facade with ashlar ground-floor sill band, first-floor band and deep cornice below
high, stone-coped, parapet. Central C18 panelled door in stone architrave with
console cornice and sash with glazing bars, exposed sash box and flat brick arch
above. To either side on each floor a Venetian-style window under brick arch having
central round-arched sash with glazing bars; intersecting in head, flanked by narrow
4-pane side-lights. Ashlar coping and brick stacks to gables. Right return: wing,
set back and the left part of herringbone-tooled stone, has c1980 conservatory (not
of special interest) masking door under deep lintel with sash with glazing bars
to right; 16-pane sash further right; on first floor a round-arched sash to left
of two sashes with glazing bars, all windows with exposed sash boxes. c1980 brick
addition to right end. Interior: 2-panel doors; in front right room, iron grate
in Adam-style wooden fireplace. In front of house, a low rendered wall supports
cast-iron railings which have square-section bars, block finials to dog-bars,
gadrooned urn-style finials to inner standards and gate, and gate in same style.
Wall returns to house, ramping up, with ashlar coping.
