Farmhouse and attached barn. Early C18. Coursed squared stone and ashlar,
Welsh slate roof. 2 storeys, 2 bays. Quoins. To right of left-hand bay a
board door in plain stone surround, flanked by wide 2-light moulded mullion
windows, with 12-pane casements. To right a small single-light arched
chamfered fire window. To first floor two 3-light moulded chamfered windows
with flat-faced mullions. Ridge stack, end stack to right with stone
coping. Barn to left with 2 byre doors, one with flat head, the other with
segment head. Advanced C20 gabled bay beyond to left. The farm was rebuilt
on the site of the monastic grange of Byland Abbey.
