House. Early C17 encasing an earlier timber framed structure; mid C20
restoration. Coursed squared gritstone, graduated stone slate roof. 2
storeys, 3-bay lobby-entry plan, the upper storey partly within the roof
space. C20 board door to right of bay 2 in a moulded quoined surround with
4-centred arched lintel. Low recessed chamfered mullion windows throughout:
of 4 and 5 lights with hoodmoulds to left of door, of 4 lights with
inscription on sill "JOHN BUCKIE CI" to right. Three 3-light windows to
first floor, that to bay 3 enlarged. Shaped kneeler and raised verge to
left, large corniced ridge stack above door and a smaller external stack to
left gable. Attached former outbuildings attached to right, now part of
house, not of special interest. Interior not inspected at resurvey.
