Sundial. c1772. Gritstone base, limestone baluster shaft, bronze gnomon. Approximately 1.5 metres high overall. Base has two steps, the lower approximately one metre square. The rather shapeless vase baluster has a square plinth, reeded lower part and a frieze with stylised acanthus decoration and roll mouldings below the octagonal gnomon. Extensively weathered at time of resurvey, apart from the south east portion which is sheltered by a yew tree. The dial has the names of countries and cities cut on it, indicating the time in those places.
