5.5.52 Oaklands
II
Early-mid C19. Ashlar with low pitched hipped Welsh slate roof, two ridge chimneys.
Classical style. Three storeys, four windows, gives appearance of having been a
six-bay design from which two bays are lost or not built. Banded rusticated ground
floor. End and centre fluted Ionic pilasters rest on first floor band and support
entablature and blocking course. Upper floors have sash windows with glazing bars,
some replaced. Ground floor late C19 square bays and off-centre door with side
lights, patterned fanlight, flat hood on cast iron brackets. Right (garden) return
rendered, two windows only. Two-storey left (north) extension, similar materials and
windows, modern garage doors.
