Milepost. C19. Cast iron and gritstone. Triangular section, semicircular
head, approximately 1 metre high. Inscriptions: head - 'Knaresborough and
Green Hammerton Road Whixley'. Left face - 'Knaresborough 6 miles'. Right
face - 'Green Hammerton 2 miles'. The cast-iron plate is fastened to a
gritstone block by 2 bolts through the head.
