House. Early C17. Cruck frame, sandstone rubble brought to course,
thatched roof covered in corrugated iron, brick stacks. 4-cell lobby entry
with later outshut to rear. One storey and attic. To right: board door
flanked by 3-light Yorkshire sash to left and 2-light Yorkshire sash to
right. To left: two 2-light Yorkshire sashes. Attic: two 2-light Yorkshire
sash dormers. Steeply-pitched roof, left end stack and ridge stack.
interior: 2 cruck trusses survive. Chamfered beams with pyramidal stops to
forehouse and parlour. North Yorkshire and Cleveland Vernacular Buildings
Study Group Report No 252.
