Pair of cottages. c1800 with later extension and C20 alteration. Squared
limestone with brick eaves course and irregular hammered quoins; brick
outshut to no 39; pantile roof with partly rebuilt brick stacks. 2-storey,
4-window front, with single-storey lean-to extension to left. No 38 to left
has centre door and C20 2-light, small-pane casements throughout. No 39
has 4-panel door and C20 cross windows to ground floor; 2-light, small-pane
casements to first floor. Painted stone sills to no 39. Painted wedge
lintels to all ground-floor openings, and painted timber lintels to first-
floor windows. Extension to left has 2-light, small-pane casements. Rear:
single-storey outshut added to no 39, with catslide roof. End and centre
stacks. Included for group value.
