Former inn, now private residence, 2 builds. Mid-late C18 with alterations. Large
herringbone-tooled sandstone on plinth. Pantiled roof with stone ridge, copings
and kneelers, stone-coped brick stacks. Hearth-passage plan. Main house has
blocked central doorway (possibly always for show). Flanking 3-light windows one
early C19 tripartite sash with central opening section, one C20 small-paned case-
ment. first floor similar early C19 windows. Extended lintels, with tall keystones,
to ground-floor windows. Downhouse has boarded passage door with square glazed
panel. Two modern small-paned casements and-one of C19 one-bar type. Block
kneelers. End chimneys to house and to left of downhouse. One-storey left outhouse
extension, almost coeval with house, has early C20 casement and boarded door in pent
porch. Far left lean-to extension is not of special interest.
