Vicarage, now hotel. c.1760, with library extension of 1803, for Francis
Wrangham (Vicar 1795-1840); other later alteration and extension. Red
brick; pantile roof; brick stacks. Central stairhall plan,
1½ rooms deep, with library extension at rear right, and later service
extension to left. 2-storey, symmetrical front of 5 bays 2:1:2. Central
hall-glazed door under radial fanlight, recessed in open pedimented doorcase
with fluted pilasters. 12-pane sashes with stone sills throughout. Cyma
recta moulded first floor band, double modillion eaves course. Coped
tumbled brick gables and shaped kneelers to steeply-pitched roof. Stacks
pierce the roof at rear. Rear: tall, Gothick-glazed staircase window. A
Latin inscribed stone tablet on the library extension commemorates its
erection.
