Lodge. 1845-46 by J Paxton and J Robertson for John Allcard of
Burton Closes (qv). Deeply-coursed sandstone with ashlar
dressings, shaped clay roof tiles. Tudor Revival style.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys, 2 windows to first floor with wing to
rear centre flanked by flat-roofed additions. Punched quoins;
moulded cross-windows; gables with shaped kneelers and
upstands to roll-moulded copings. Gabled central porch has
rusticated keystone to 4-centred arch; central shaft rises as
a finial.
Corbel table at eaves; gabled half-dormers. Corbelled end
stack on left has deeply-chamfered base to twin octagonal
flues with moulded caps; apex finial on right; decorative
ridge tiles.
Right return: rectangular single-storey bay window. Left
return: 4-centred arched doorway into walled yard.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
