Farmhouse. 1664 in Fen Artisan Mannerist style, altered C19.
Red brick in English bond, pantile roof, brick coped gables, 2
brick gable stacks. t-plan. 2 storey plus garret, 4 bay front
with plinth and first floor band which rises over the window
openings. Off-centre C20 door with basket arched head, in
rusticated brick surround. To the right a semi-circular headed
niche with brick hood and rectangular surround attached to the
firstfloor band. Above a detached brick pediment containing an
ashlar datestone inscribed 1664. To the right a single and to
left a pair of C19 margin light sashes. To first floor 3 similar
windows, all with brick segmental heads. Remnants of the earlier
fenestration can be seen, with a straight joint and springing for
basket shaped arched heads. The gable end has a brick dogtoothed
band and 2 small semi-circular headed openings, blank, to first
floor. To the rear is a lower single storey service range with
brick coped tumbled gable. Interior has moulded beams with ogee
stops.
