Early C16, timber framed, weatherboarded and brick nogged, with long wall
jetty on west side. Red plain tile roof. 2 storeys, with stable range below,
and grand chamber above. 5 window range at first floor, with oriels, with roll
moulded cills and vertical mullions. Ground floor has 2 original doorways
with four centred arches, and 2 original square windows. Internally there is
an original ladder stair at north end. Braced side purlin roof. Jowled
storey posts. Stop chamfered top plates and tie beams. Halved and bridled
top plate scarfs. Soffit tenon with diminished haunches to floor joists.
All work of high quality, the first floor being probably a feast room or
manorial court room.
