TF 34 SE FISHTOFT ROCHFORD TOWER LANE

12/33 Rochford Tower House

G.V. II

House. c.1807 and 1860 extension and minor alterations. Brick,
partly stuccoed, partly colourwashed. Westmorland slate roof
with stone coped gable, pantile rear wing. Rendered gable stack,
ridge stack and wall stack. L-plan. 2 storey plus garret, 4 bay
front, with slightly advanced entry bay, plinth and dentillated
timber eaves cornice. The left hand bay is added. Off-centre 6
panelled door with plain overlight, wooden architrave, scrolled
brackets, supporting narrow leaded hood. To right a canted
glazing bar sash bay window with flat lead roof. To left, 2
glazing bar sashes. To first floor are 5 similar windows. The
house was constructed following the demolition of the hall block
which was attached to the Rochford Tower. Source: Thompson,
