Barn. Early C19. Red brick in Flemish bond, roofed mainly with handmade red
clay tiles, partly with slate. Aligned NE-SW, in 2 equal sections, each with a
midstrey to the NW. 2 lean-to extensions to NW, between the midstreys, and
lean-to shelter sheds along SE side. The SW half retains most of the original
central threshing floor of herringbone brickwork, and the original half-hipped
gambrel roof of 5 bays; lower pitch of SE side slated, the remainder tiled;
raking struts from straight tiebeams to principal rafters, clasped purlins in
upper pitch. The NE half retains a wooden threshing floor; the roof has been
rebuilt in the C20 in simple pitched form.
