House, C15, extended in C20. Timber framed, plastered, roofed with machine-made
red clay tiles. 2 bays aligned approx. E-W, with late C16 chimney stack against
S wall of W bay. S extension from E bay, C20 , forming an L-plan, and single -
storey extension with hippped roof in the angle, C20. Single storey with attics.
W, elevation, ground floor, leaded french windows in tiled gabled porch, 3 leaded
casement windows; first floor, 2 similar windows, of which one is in a flat-
roofed dormer, all C20. Some framing exposed internally. Jowled posts. S
wallplate severed for access to C20 extension. Lodged longitudinal joists of
heavy square section jointed to building beam with central tenons. Trimmed stair
trap in SE corner. In NE corner, original joists replaced by thinner joists,
C19. Hearth faced with C20 brick, but original brickwork is visible from the
rear, inside the C20 extension. Roof fully lathed and plastered internally.
