Farmhouse. C18; sundial dated 1738; extended and remodelled circa mid C19 with few
later alterations. Granite rubble with brick dressings. Asbestos slate roof with
ridge tiles and gable ends. Gable end stacks with brick shafts. The C19 addition
has a slurried scantle slate roof with ridge tiles and gable ends; gable end stack to
right with brick shaft.
Plan: 2-room plan with central entrance to passage; each room heated from a gable
end stack. In circa mid C19, an addition of one-room plan was added at the right
end, heated from a gable end stack to right; this addition has an integral outshut,
and probably at about the same time a lean-to was added at the left end.
Exterior: 2 storeys, the C18 building has a symmetrical 3-window front. First floor
has three C19 4-pane sashes in original openings with cambered brick arches. Ground
floor has central C19 panelled and glazed door, with C19 4-pane sash to left and 6-
pane sash to right, all with cambered brick arches. At first floor level to left is
a slate sundial with nowy head and gnomon, dated 1738. There is a straight masonry
joint at right to the addition of C19, which is also 2-storey; this has a C19 16-pane
sash at ground floor and 6-pane sash at first floor, both with cambered brick arches.
The right end has an external stack. The left end has single storey lean-to.
Interior: Not inspected, but may retain some features of the C18, such as panelled
doors.
