Farmhouse, now private house. Probably mid C17 with extension dated and
inscribed over former doorway BENJAMIN CASS 1701; further aid C19 addition.
Roughcast walls, under graduated greenslate roof with right coped gable and
kneelers; cement rendered chimney stacks. 2 storeys, 3 bays with right 2-bay
extension under common roof and left right-angled 2-bay extension partly under
common roof. C20 door in C18 painted stone architrave under cement hoodmould.
Sash windows in C17 chamfered currounds under cement hoodmoulds. Small oval
fire windows on both floors. C18 extension has ground-floor sash windows in
painted stone architraves, the left one probably having been a doorway with
inscription over, and both under cement hoodmoulds. Upper-floor sash windows in
large C19 painted stone surrounds. C19 extension has canted bay window and sash
windows in plain reveals and painted stone surrounds. Interior has beamed
ceilings and slated floors. C20 firebeam and C17 inscribed moulded stone
fireplace from a farm in the Caldbeck area.
