Milepost. 1840. Cast-iron pillar with low pedimented capping.
Lettering: SALISBURY/5/WARMINSTER/16, the latter distance is not
visible due to subsidence of plinth. One of a series of cast-iron
mile posts on radial turnpikes around Warminster and along the A36,
manufactured by the Warminster firm of ironfounders, Carson and
Miller and dated 1840.
