1/147 Dinton Mill Cottage
and The Mill
II
Mill, now disused, and cottage. Late C17 and c1800. Dressed
limestone. Welsh slate roof with half hip to left and brick
stacks. L-plan. Former mill to left; 2-storey, 3-window front
with C20 door, two 2-light casements and shuttered window to left,
three 2-light casements to first floor, flat-headed dormer with 2-
light casement to attic. Mill Cottage is C19 addition with 2-light
and 3-light casements to ground floor and two 2-light casements to
first. Right return has C20 door and 2-light and single-light
casements. Left return has C20 French windows up stone steps to
first floor, 3-light attic casement. Rear has blocked recessed
chamfered mullioned casement and 3-light leaded casement to The
Mill ground floor, square opening over mill race to right, first
floor has 2-light casement and plate glass window. Rear of Mill
Cottage has casements and rear wing with lean-to extension.
