Country house, now eight flats. Late C18, altered early C19.
Flemish and English bond brick, front in header bond, hipped tiled
roof, brick stacks. Consists of three parallel ranges. Three-
storey, 5-window front; sashes. Central double 6-panelled doors
with transom light in pedimented porch with Tuscan columns and
Ionic responds, two 12-pane sashes to either side. First floor has
two late C19 eight-pane sashes to left and one 12-pane sash over
door, two smaller 8-pane sashes to right. Second floor has five
small 6-pane sashes. Coved eaves cornice. Attached to right is
late C19 two-storey extension with sashes. Left return has early
C19 three-storey bow with some blind windows, 12-pane sash to
ground floor, late C19 eight-pane sash to first and 6-pane sash to
second floor, flat roof, to left of bow are various sashes to the
middle range and rear C19 range. Right return is partly limestone
with sashes to rear ranges. Rear C19 range has segmental-headed
sashes and 2-light casements.
Interior now divided into flats and mostly altered, some good 6-
panelled doors with egg and dart moulded panels survive, inner
porch doors are double half-glazed with margin-panes. Attached to
right is range of late C19 ashlar outbuildings with tiled roofs,
includes a stable with round-arched planked doors and gabled loft
door.
