4/270 Knapp Cottage

GV II

Pair of cottages, now one house. HIL/1698 incised on door lintel.
Rubble stone, asbestos slate roof, stone and brick gable end and
axial brick stacks. Entrance to rear. Two-storey, 4-window
south front. C20 glazed door in porch to left and planked door to
right, both with chamfered stone surrounds, C20 casement to left
and 2-light and 3-light recessed chamfered mullioned casements to
right. First floor has four 3-light mullioned casements, two to
left have cast-iron latticed casements. Single storey C19
extension with double roman tiled roof and planked door to left.
Right return has 2-light or single-light mullioned casements to
ground, first and attic floors. Left return has 2-light casement
to first floor. Rear has C20 ground floor casements and two
single-light chamfered casements to first floor. Interior has
chamfered beam with stepped stops, open fireplace with renewed
lintel on chamfered stone jambs.
