House. Late C18. Red brick in Flemish bond. Plain tile roof. Double
depth. 2 storeys, on brick plinth. Flat eaves soffits with paired Ionic
modillions. Hipped roof, hips returning to rear. "Rear" stacks to left and
right. Regular 3-window front of recessed sashes, two sixteen-pane and central
twelve-pane, with splayed rubbed brick voussoirs. Two similar sixteen-pane
sashes to ground floor. Central door of six flush beaded panels, with semi-
circular fanlight, set in architrave with fluted Doric pilasters and moulded
broken-based triangular pediment, up three stone steps with moulded treads.
Two-storey red and grey brick rear wing to right, gabled, with gable end
stack. Two-storey rear infilling to left. Interior: oval stair well to centre
of main range with curved door in its rear wall giving access to first-floor
corridor of rear wing. Doorcases with paterae, and panelled doors. Fire-
places with late C18 surrounds, and iron grates. Left ground-floor fireplace
flanked by round-headed niches with curved shelves, panelled doors and
reeded pilasters. Rectangular niche with paterae, cornice and panelled doors
beside right ground-floor fireplace.
