Nos 1, 2, 3 and 4

(Formerly listed as Nos 1, 2, 3 and 4, Edinboro Terrace)

GV
II
Terrace of former mill workers' cottages, circa 1830, of squared coursed red gritstone with Kerridge stone-slate gabled roof carrying 2 gable and 3 ridge chimneys of stone. Two storeys with 12 windows to lower and 8 to upper storey. Nos 1 and 2 are unaltered externally, with boarded doors; Nos. 3 and 4 have late C20 small-pane glazed doors with intersecting Gothick tracery to match the windows. Windows to front of all cottages have 4-pane casements surmounted by intersecting tracery of wood in pointed arched openings: 4 gabled projections to rear contain yards between. A door and window are on the right side only of each projection. Originally the terrace contained 8 dwellings (in line, not back-to-back) of which alternate cottages had access from front and back.
