rear of No 45

II

Wall with bee boles, probably early C19. Limestone rubble and slate. Wall about
2m high and 10m long, of rough rubble with flat slate coping. 3 round-arched
recesses each about 1.25m in height and width, evenly spaced along the wall.
Recesses have large rough voussoirs and are lined with lime plaster; they were
used to shelter straw bee skeps in winter.
