Dovecote converted to smithy. Mid or late C17 with late C19 alterations. Mixed
sandstone rubble walls, under graduated greenslate roof with coped gables and
kneelers. Square dovecote. Plank doors in C19 plain opening and right small
fixed-casement windows. Triangular gable opening is now blocked but retains its
stone shelves. Return walls have small casement windows in stone surrounds and
some slit vents. Interior has its boulins which have been removed on one wall
for the addition of a hearth and blacksmith's bellows, still in position. No
boulins survive in the loft. Listed for group value with Hutton John.
