House and adjoining barn. (1784 date, with initials G. G., on lintel to former
stable, now garage). Barn probably contemporary. House possibly earlier;
remodelled and added to in Gothic style in C19. Original house of stone;
alterations and additions in snecked rubble with quoins. Barn of slobbered
rubble with quoins. Graduated slate roofs; house has stone copings and
kneelers. 'T'-shaped plan. 2-storey house is 4 bays with cross-wing. Original
entry in north gable: plank door in chamfered surround. East elevation has
added, gabled porch with studded plank door in surround with 4-centred head.
Full-height projecting chimney. Full-height canted bay to east gable of cross
wing; all window casements, mostly multi-light, in stone surrounds with mullions
and, in some cases, transoms. Some windows diamond-leaded. 2 dormer windows
and an eaves chimney stack to south elevation. Barn is single tall storey
adjoining to north with depressed wagon arch, at junction with house, leading
through to courtyard. Blocked doorway and small casement, with vent slits
between, on east elevation. The garage is altered and not of special interest.
