Farmhouse. Late C17 for William Dalston, with mid C18 extension. Roughcast
walls with right painted V-jointed quoins. Oldest part has sandstone slate roof
with coped gables and kneelers; extension has graduated greenslate roof with
banded ashlar red sandstone chimney stacks. Extension is the main facade of
2 storeys, 4 bays. The earlier part, now at right-angles, 2 storeys, 2 bays
forming overall L-shape. Off-centre panelled door in shouldered architrave
under enriched keyed lintel and pediment. Double sash windows in painted stone
architraves, except that over entrance. Earlier part has C18 chamfered 2-light
stone-mullioned windows. 2 low wash-house extensions have sandstone slate
roofs. Interior has boxed-beam ceiling and panelled internal shutters to each
window. Late C17 oak staircase. Staircase window had stained panel of Dalston
