House and stable range. House has date stone: "T & AC/1771" but probably earlier
C18, stable range has date stone: "T&A/C/1859". Roughcast stone and stone
rubble, slate roofs. 2 storeys, U-plan. House forms north-east range of 4
irregular bays. Modillioned cornice. Windows to 1st 2 bays are sashed with
glazing bars, 2nd bay has 3-light single-chamfered-mullioned window, with
sashes, and paired sashes above. 3rd bay has 2 small-paned windows of 2 lights
to ground floor, 4th bay has 3-light window with chamfered reveals and
flat-faced mullions, small-paned casements. 1st floor has paired
horizontally-sliding sashes with glazing bars to 3rd bay, sashed window to 4th
bay. Entrance near centre with part-glazed door. Gable-end stacks and
cross-axial stack. Left return has French windows and 1st floor large sashed
window with glazing bars. Rear has outshuts under catslide roofs and end gabled
wing with large 6-light polygonal bay window with small-paned glazing. Entrance
has dated lintel. 3-light chamfered wooden-mullioned window with leaded glazing
to outshut to right. Adjoining north-west wing has elliptical-arched through
passage with ashlar dressings and date stone over; canted oriel to left has
sashed windows and hipped roof; small windows to right. External stair in
passage. South-west range is outbuilding of stone rubble, partly converted as
part of house, has inserted windows and entrances to left hand end; brick
lateral stack. Rear has large elliptical-headed entrance, with smaller entrance
and window in former entrance to left. Interior not inspected, possibly has
features of interest, e.g. chamfered beams and 2-fielded-panel doors.
