Farmhouse. Early C19, with addition of later C19 and few later alterations. Granite
and elvan stone rubble with stone dressings. Hipped slate roof with ridge tiles.
Front lateral stack to right and left with brick shafts; stack to rear left end with
brick shaft. Partly rendered.
Plan: L-plan, with central entrance, kitchen to right heated from a front lateral
stack and parlour to left, also heated from a front lateral stack. There is an
integral rear wing of one-room plan to left, heated from a stack at the rear end. At
the right end there is a single storey unheated outshut, as a dairy, of the later
C19.
Exterior: 2 storeys, symmetrical entrance front; ground floor has central recessed
round-arched doorway with dressed stone arch; inner C19 4-panelled door. At first
floor there is a central C19 2-light casement, of 2 panes, with round dressed stone
arch. To right, the dairy outshut has 2-light 4-pane C19 casement. At the left side
there are two C19 4-pane sashes at ground and first floor, with keystones; blocked
doorway set off-centre to left. At the rear, the main range has 4-pane sash at
ground floor and C20 window at first floor; lean-to porch to right with inner plank
door. The rear wing is to right, rendered, with half-hipped roof and end stack.
Interior: Not inspected, but may retain features of the early C19, such as staircase.
This is an unusual plan for a farmhouse of this date.
