Coach house with stables and groom's living accommodation in the loft and including
an adjoining store and probably pigsty. Circa late C19. Granite rubble with granite
dressings. Grouted scantle slate roofs. Brick chimney over right-hand gable end of
coach house. Cast-iron ogee-section gutters.
Plan: Rectangular plan coach-house with central stair between stables on the left
and coach house on the right. Set back on the left is a single-storey outbuilding.
Exterior: 2 storeys. 4-window south-west front with wide carriage doorway on the
right and stable doorway towards the left; window on either side of stable doorway
and a central doorway (originally a stair window). Doorways have hooded lintels with
tracks for sliding doors. Panelled door with 2 glazed top panels to stable, one
original door to carriage doorway. Circa late C19 horned sashes except for C20 12-
pane casement at first floor second from left fitted to former loading hatch to hay
loft over stables. Store and piggery set back on the left has front carried on
granite monolithic piers with doorways between the piers.
Interior: Virtually unaltered interior where inspected. Original stall partitions
in stables and fireplace in coach house.
