Farmhouse. Mid C19. Stone rubble with dressed stone quoins, moulded plinth and
dressed stone arches. Slate roof with gable ends to rear wings and hipped ends to
garden front. Brick axial and end stacks with moulded caps.
Plan: Original plan uncertain. The house is roughly of overall 'U' shaped plan with
a small outbuilding attached to the end of the rear right hand wing. There are two
principal rooms on the garden front, heated by back-to-back fireplaces. The main
entrance is on the right hand side. The dairy is accommodated in the rear right hand
wing and the kitchen and back kitchen in the rear left hand wing which overlooks the
farmyard below.
Exterior: Two storeys. Entrance in right hand side elevation through a gabled C19
porch with dressed stone round arch with C19 12-pane sash to left and two C19 three
over six-pane sashes on first floor. Regular 2-window garden front with segmental
dressed stone arched openings, a C19 12-pane sash to left and probably early C20
canted bay window to right with granite pilasters. Two C19 3 over 6-pane sashes
above. The left hand side elevation has original C19 sashes, the left hand wing
being set slightly forward with a later C19 or C20 canted bay window on the ground
floor. There is a bellcote on the ridge above the kitchen containing a C19 bell.
Interior: Complete with Cl9 fixtures and fittings.
