Public house. Probably late C18; altered. Granite ashlar, tiled roof. Long
rectangular double-depth range. Three storeys and 5 unequal bays; the 2nd,
3rd and 5th have prominent 2-storey canted bay windows with 4-pane
sashes on both floors, moulded cornices over those at ground floor, the
walls rendered between the floors, and hipped roofs; a very large slightly-
sloped flat canopy bridges the ground floor between the 2nd and 3rd of
these, protecting a former entrance which has been altered as a sashed
window; at the left end the 1st bay has a 4-pane sashed window at ground
floor and a 16-pane sash above; the 2nd floor has 5 low 2-light casements
immediately below the eaves. Hipped roof with one chimney on the ridge
and another at the left side wall. Present entrance in right-hand return
wall. Interior altered. Now partly integrated with No.2 Church Street to
the left (q.v.), formerly known as The Unicorn Hotel.
