House and adjoining barn. Circa C17 with barn probably added in C18. Stone rubble,
the house rendered. Scantle slate roof to house with several early crested ridge
tiles. Barn with rag slate roof. Stone rubble end stack on left with moulded
granite cap.
Plan: House of 2 room plan with larger hall/kitchen on left, heated by end stack with
cloam oven. Smaller unheated room on right. The entrance, which is to right of
centre, was probably directly into the larger left hand room. Rectangular 2-storey
barn added on right hand gable end, probably shippon with loft above.
Exterior: 2 storeys. House with asymmetrical 2 window front, the windows on the
front replaced in the C20. Larger C20 window to left and smaller casement to right.
C20 brick porch with slate roof and circa C19 plank door within. 2 C20 windows on
first floor. Smaller window with chamfered granite surround to rear. The barn to
right is higher and is of 2 storeys. Entrance to shippon to left of centre. Window
on first floor to left and C20 glazed door to right with C20 timber external stair.
Lower range to right of single storey and loft with corrugated iron roof.
Interior: Fireplace with chamfered lintel and jambs and cloam oven. Ceiling beams
replaced in late C19 or C20.
