4/315 The Old Vicarage

Vicarage, now private house. Datestone 1875. Roughly coursed granite rubble with
granite and brick dressings. Dry Delabole slate roof with hipped dormers, projecting -
eaves with moulded rafter ends and verges. Stone axial stacks and stack over right
hand cross wall towards rear.
Plan: rectangular double-depth plan 3 rooms wide: entrance hall with stair hall
towards the left, study far left and 2 reception rooms at rear (garden front) left
and middle (now 1 room). Lean-to at far right.
Exterior : Asymmetrical 5 window entrance front with 2 dormers breaking the eaves.
Pointed arched doorway under left hand dormer; similar dormer towards right, both
with original 12-pane hornless sashes; stair window right of doorway (under eaves)
with similar sash; otherwise the window openings are small, irregularly sized and
disposed.
Rear is a symmetrical 3-window garden front: paired windows to ground floor and
gabled dormers to first floor, all openings with original 12-pane hornless sashes
with concealed sash boxes.
Interior : little altered since built with most of its original carpentry and joinery
including open-well stair with octagonal balusters and moulded hand-rail and 4-panel
doors.
