Inn. Mid C17, much modified internally. Rendered, slate roof.
A single-depth 2-heated-room plan with gable stacks, possibly
originally with cross-passage.
2 storeys, 3 windows, all recessed hollow-chamfer stone
mullioned casements; at eaves level three 4-light, and at
ground floor two 5-light with labels. A C19 central door with
transom light is flanked by side-lights, all under straight
lintel. Brick stack to the plain left gable, and rendered
stack to the right; this wall has a doorway to the S of the
fireplace. The back has 2-light small-pane casements, a
central lean-to extension, and a flat-roofed addition. Some
transverse moulded beams remain to the ground floor.
This is a rare survival in a part of the town which was
subject of extensive clearance in the mid C20.
